Porsche Cars Australia has recalled 474 examples of its 992-generation 911, due to a fault which can cause the front and rear windows to fall out while driving.
“Due to a manufacturing issue, the front and rear window glass may have insufficient bonding to the vehicle’s body,” the manufacturer said in its recall notice.
“This may lead to partial loosening of the window over the vehicle’s service life. In the event of an accident, this can also negatively affect the effectiveness of the front airbags and could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants.”

The recall only affects Porsche 911s with the optional lightweight glass packages (option codes VW4 and VW7).
